A brand-new experience for 2023, the Evolution Drone Light Show is sure to captivate and mesmerise its attendees on Thursday 14th December. Although not strictly a 'light trail', this unique show uses drones to offer a truly magical spectacle that is unlike anything you have ever seen before.


Using state-of-the-art technology, the Evolution Drone Light Show utilizes a fleet of synchronized drones that dance and manoeuvre through the night sky, creating a stunning display of lights and colours. The precision and coordination of the drones create breathtaking patterns and formations that are synchronised to carefully curated sounds, adding an extra layer of immersive entertainment. Whether you are a fan of technology or art, or simply looking for a one-of-a-kind experience, the Evolution Drone Light Show is guaranteed to leave you in awe.


In addition to the drone light show, there will also be fairground rides and food stalls from independent street food vendors. So, mark your calendars and prepare to be amazed by this extraordinary light show.

2. Webbs of Wychbold: The Enchanted Gardens Neverland

Webbs' The Enchanted Gardens Neverland light trail is a highly-anticipated event in the Midlands that promises a magical and captivating experience for visitors of all ages. This enchanting illuminated trail takes place in the beautiful Webbs Gardens, which are transformed into a fairy tale wonderland during the festive season.


As you embark on the journey through the illuminated trail, you will be transported into a world of fairy tales and enchantment. Each step reveals a new scene, showcasing a delightful display of lights and interactive installations. From the lands of mermaids, fairies, and pirates, including the evil Captain Hook!


What sets The Enchanted Gardens Christmas Light Trail apart is that every year, the light spectacle is different, ensuring a fresh experience for returning visitors. How much? Ticket prices vary depending on the date you choose to visit. Santa will be at The Enchanted Gardens from November 17th until December 28th inclusive.

3. Blenheim Palace: A Magical After-Dark Trail for 2023

Experience the magic of Christmas at Blenheim Palace. This year, Blenheim Palace is hosting two events: an illuminated after-dark immersive light experience and Sleeping Beauty inside the Palace.


One of the main highlights of the after-dark trail is the stunning illuminated lights in the historic gardens. As darkness descends, the beautiful grounds come alive with spectacular festive displays of light, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Wander through the illuminated trails, admiring the twinkling trees and sparkling decorations at every turn. Discover the glowing tunnel of lights, heart-shaped arches, an 8-metre sphere filled with over 20,000 moving LEDs, and so much more!


To add to the festive experience, there is a Christmas market (from Friday 17th November to Sunday 17th December 2023) where you can browse for unique gifts, indulge in delicious seasonal food and festive treats, and sip on a warm cup of mulled wine or hot chocolate.

4. Christmas at Wollaton: Wollaton Hall Light Trail

Experience the magic of the Wollaton Hall Light Trail as creative director, Katherine Jewkes, and lighting designers, Luminism, work together to transform the historic grounds into a captivating magical winter wonderland. As you wander through the illuminated trees and projections this festive period, you'll be immersed in a world of seasonal sparkle and festive cheer.


At Wollaton Hall, surprises are around every corner! With independent food vendors selling festive food and warming cocktails for those dark winter nights, these spectacular illuminations are a must-visit. You're bound to have an unforgettable time with friends and family.

5. Warwick Castle: Christmas at the Castle

Get ready to be dazzled at the Christmas Light Trail at Warwick Castle! Step into a world of enchantment as the beautiful castle grounds come alive with a mesmerising display of lights. Experience the magic as you wander through the illuminated pathways, surrounded by beautiful light installations and interactive displays.


If you're visiting Warwick Castle, you can upgrade your ticket to include the light trail, ice rink, and/or stories with Santa to make it a full family day out. Alternatively, you can book tickets for the light trail only.

6. Spectacle of Light at Sudeley Castle & Gardens

Explore the beautiful new Wizard of Oz-themed light trail around Sudeley Castle’s stunning grounds. There will be sparkling water features, a mesmerising Garden of Fire, light beams, lanterns, and much more. Hot food and drink will also be available to purchase.


How much? Ticket prices are £24 per adult, £12.00 per child, under 3's go free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are £64. You can save 10% if you book by the 23rd of November.

7. Winter Glow Christmas Illuminated Light Trail

8. Delapré Abbey Winter Light Trail

This enchanting trail transforms the historic abbey and its surrounding grounds and beautiful gardens into a magical wonderland during the winter season. Visitors can wander along illuminated pathways, where an array of stunning light installations and displays create a mesmerising spectacle.


There will also be a selection of local, independent food vendors, an Après Ski bar and kids' funfair rides.

9. Cotswold Farm Park: Enchanted Light Trail

The Enchanted Light Trail at Cotswold Farm Park is a magical annual event set in the picturesque Cotswolds. This magical trail takes visitors on an enchanting journey through the farm which will be adorned with thousands of twinkling lights and stunning lighting elements.


Additionally, meet, feed, and see some adorable animals in the barn, toast marshmallows, and indulge in seasonal treats and warm beverages, making it a complete and heartwarming winter outing.


How much? £22.95 per adult, £17.50 per child (aged 4-15 years), £12.50 per toddler, under 1's go free.

10. National Memorial Arboretum: Illuminated Arboretum

The National Memorial Arboretum is beginning the festive season with a kaleidoscope of colour. As you walk through the 150-acre woodland, you will be treated to spectacular installations and beams of light. In addition to the awe-inspiring, kaleidoscopic and multi-sensory world of light and sound, there will also be a selection of takeaway treats and hot drinks to enjoy.


How much? £19 per adult, £9 per child (5-15 years), under 5s go free.

When? 7th - 23rd December 2023. Entry time slots are every 15 minutes between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.

11. Luminate Wolverhampton: Light Trail at West Park

Immerse yourself in an enchanting winter wonderland at the Luminate Winter Light Trail in Wolverhampton. This brand-new trail experience offers a truly magical display for visitors of all ages.


As you wander through the trail, you will be captivated by the stunning light displays and special effects that illuminate the park. The combination of dazzling lights and ambient music creates a truly immersive and enchanting atmosphere.


The trail lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. There will also be catering and small children's rides at the start/end of the trail to enjoy, as well as toasted marshmallows and mulled wine approximately halfway around the lights trail.

12. Luminate: Coombe Abbey Winter Light Trail 2023

In 2023, prepare to be enchanted and captivated once again as Coombe Abbey's magnificent illuminated trail returns, promising a wondrous and intriguing experience for all your senses.


As nightfall embraces us, you will embark on an enchanting journey through the spellbinding light trail of the historic and breathtaking Coombe Abbey Park. The mile-long trail will be adorned with dazzling lighting features and delightful light displays, all harmoniously synchronised with ambient music.

13. Luminate: Birmingham Botanical Gardens Winter Light Trail 2023

Immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of the Luminate Birmingham Botanical Gardens Winter Light Trail. This breathtaking display takes you on a 1.4km long illuminated trail through the award-winning gardens, where you'll be dazzled by a spectacular display of lights and installations.


The trail lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. There will also be catering and hot drinks at the start of the trail as well as toasted marshmallows and mulled wine approximately halfway around the lights trail.

14. Luminate: Shugborough Estate Winter Light Trail 2023

As darkness descends, Shugborough Estate will be turned into a spectacle of light with beautiful illuminations. As you weave your way along the mile-long route through the stunning historic grounds of Shugborough Estate, you will be captivated by the mesmerising lighting display and immersive visuals all set to ambient music.


There will also be hot drinks and hot food available at the start of the trail and toasted marshmallows and mulled wine a third of the way around the trail.
