1. Book Early
Many trails sell out quickly, especially weekend and evening slots in December. Check booking dates in advance and secure your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
2. Arrive On Time and Dress Warmly
Allow plenty of time for parking and check-in. Most trails take around 60–90 minutes to walk, and with plenty of festive photo opportunities along the way, you won’t want to rush. Dress in layers, wear waterproofs if needed, and choose comfortable footwear to stay warm and dry.
3. Bring Some Extra Treats
Even if hot drinks and snacks are available on-site, it’s always nice to pack a few festive nibbles or marshmallows to enjoy as you stroll through the lights
4. Capture the Magic
Light trails are ideal for festive photos, but remember to pause and enjoy the moment too. Many trails include interactive light installations and glowing tunnels designed for creating lasting family memories.
5. Check Parking and Accessibility
Before you go, look up parking details—some venues require pre-booked spaces—and check accessibility if you’re visiting with a buggy or wheelchair. Most larger sites provide accessible routes and toilets, but it’s always worth confirming in advance.
