Sunflower Fields Midlands in 2023

Sunflower season is upon us! As August approaches, these stunning flower fields are opening their gates to visitors, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature's beauty and providing great photo opportunities.


In addition to the acres of sunflowers, many farms have sunflower trails and offer fresh produce including vegetables, cakes, and even ice cream.


In this blog post, we'll take you on a tour of some of the most enchanting sunflower fields in the Midlands, complete with their opening dates, entrance fees, and addresses. Grab your camera and get ready to be dazzled by the blooming splendour!


Sunflowers Fields: Midlands 2023


Becketts Farm is one of the most popular sunflower fields in the West Midlands.

Location: Becketts Farm, Heath Farm, Alcester Road, Wythall, Birmingham, B47 6AJ Opening Date: Open now (01.08.2023)

Cost: Entrance to the sunflower field is free, but a donation to the farm's chosen charity, Cash for Kids, is welcomed. The charity supports children, young people and their families who are affected by poverty, abuse, neglect and life-limiting illnesses.

Note: You cannot pick the sunflowers at Becketts Farm.


Location: Forge Lane, West Bromwich, B71 3SZ

Opening Date: Friday 11th August 2023

Cost: Entrance to the sunflower field / PYO sunflowers is included in admission to the farm. Farm tickets are £4.50 per adult and £5.50 per child, family tickets are available.


Sunflower fields West Midlands Forge Mill Farm

Location: Watling Street, Lichfield WS14 0AW

Opening Date: 5th August 2023

Cost: Entry to the sunflowers is included in the Summer Maize Maze ticket. There will also be some sunflower-only tickets. Click here for more information. Sunflowers will be available to buy when they are in flower.





Location: Top Barn Farm, Worcester Road, Holt Heath, Worcester WR6 6NH

Opening Date: Wednesday 9th August 2023

Cost: Pay for what you pick.


Location: Glebe Farm, Lower Brailes, Banbury OX15 5HR

Opening Date: Thursday 3rd August 2023

Cost: Admission is £2 each (under 16s go free). £5 for a bunch of sunflowers.

Note: You can pick your own sunflowers at Glebe Farm.


Location: Stretton-under-Fosse, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV23 0PE

Opening Date: Open now

Cost: The entry fee is £3.00/per person children under 2 are free. The entry fee is a down payment on any produce you pick. It can only be reimbursed as produce you pick in the pick your own. For example, sunflowers are £1.00/per stem. Any additional produce picked above the cost of the entry fee is then charged extra. Pre-booking essential.


Location: Little Wytheford Farm, Shawbury, Shrewsbury SY4 4JW

Opening Date: Wednesday 9th August 2023

Cost: Entry to the sunflower field is £2.50 per person with under 5's going free. Sunflowers are available to take home for 50p a stem. Little Wytheford Farm has designated PYO zones for you to pick from which are clearly signposted.


Location: Swepstone Road, Heather, Coalville, Leicestershire, LE67 2RF

Opening Date: Thursday 3rd August 2023

Cost: Admission is £5 per adult (13 years+), which includes 3 free stems. Under 12s go free. Additional stems are £1 each.





Location: Birdingbury, Rugby CV23 8HL

Opening Date: Open now

Cost: In 2022, admission to the sunflower field was free, with sunflowers charged at £1 per stem. This year, I believe it may be similar but this hasn't been confirmed yet.


Location: Oaks Lane, Southwell NG25 0RH

Opening Date: 28th July 2023 (subject to change please see their website and social media for updates). Open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-4pm.

Cost: The entry fee is a pre-payment for produce picked, and includes access to The Sunflower Experience and Maize Maze. Adults £8 each, Children (3-15) £7 each, and under 3s free. Family of 4 £25.


Location: Kettering Road, Northampton NN3 7XA

Opening Date: 26th July 2023

Cost: You can visit the sunflower field with your maize maze ticket or they also offer limited sunflower-only tickets on certain days. Sunflowers are 5 for £5. They ask you to bring your own cutters - otherwise, you will be charged to use the farm's cutters.


(Note: Unfortunately, Lodge Farm, Kineton, are not opening their sunflower field this year because of the lack of sunflowers and the number of weeds. They will be back next year better than ever!)


Tips for Visiting Sunflower Fields

  1. Always check the farm's website or social media for updated information, as the opening dates are subject to weather and bloom readiness.

  2. Respect the fields and follow any guidelines set by the farms to preserve the beauty of the sunflowers for everyone to enjoy.

  3. Dress comfortably and wear suitable footwear for walking through the fields.

  4. For the sunflower fields where you can pick your own, many encourage you to bring your own secateurs.

  5. Capture the magic of the moment with photographs but be mindful not to damage the sunflowers in the process.
