The Zog Activity Trail at participating Forestry England forests (including Wyre Forest and Cannock Chase in the Midlands) offers families a wonderful opportunity to explore the enchanting woodland while engaging in an exciting adventure.

What is the Zog Activity Trail?

The Zog Activity Trail is an interactive family trail created by Forestry England, where families can join Zog and his friends on their latest forest adventure. The Zog Trail is based on the very popular book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

How to Join Zog on His Latest Forest Adventure

To join Zog on his latest forest adventure, families can follow the special markers along the trail, look out for the colourful Zog panels, and access all sorts of fun activities. Your children can learn how to care for the forest and collect 'golden stars' along the way. This interactive trail provides a wonderful opportunity for families to learn more about the forests of Forestry England.

Trail activity packs are available to purchase from the Wyre Forest Cafe or Information Point for £4. The trail pack is filled with a trail leaflet, dragon wings to decorate and wear, a pencil and a crayon, stickers. and magical Zog glasses to look for hidden letters along the trail to solve a word puzzle.

Don't forget to download the free augmented reality app before you visit 'Zog: A Forest Adventure' via Google Play or the App Store to access all sorts of exciting challenges (more about this below).

Once you download the app, you can use it to make the Zog trail come to life! If you point the brand new app at special markers along the trail your children can take part in bonus activities and lessons just like Zog, such as learning to fly, learning to roar, breathing fire, and staying calm and still. You'll be able to collect virtual golden stars after the completion of each lesson on the app. And at the end of the trail, you can use the app to take a photo with everyone's favourite dragon, Zog!

Zog Crack the Christmas Code

Before Christmas, we participated in the brand new trail addition - Zog Crack the Christmas Code! This exciting holiday treasure hunt involved following festive clues along the Zog trail to uncover the hidden code. Once you have completed the Zog Christmas clue leaflet, you can exchange it for a Zog ornament at the cafe.

Zog Trail at Forestry England FAQ

Is the Zog Activity Trail free to access?

The Zog Activity Trail is free to access. Families can follow the trail and access all sorts of fun activities along the way by downloading the 'Zog Forest Adventure' app for free. Purchasing the activity pack for £4 isn't 100% necessary but adds some extra activities to the trail.

On the Forestry England website, free downloadable activity sheets are available such as making a golden star medal, matching the senses, making your own finger puppets, and getting creative and drawing with Zog. These activity sheets can be used at home or out in the woods to keep your little ones busy.

Please also note that parking charges apply across Forestry England sites.

Where can I pick up the Zog Trail activity pack?

You can pick up the Zog trail activity pack for £4 at the Cafe, Welcome Centre, or Information Point at participating Forestry England locations.
