Top Tips For Pumpkin Picking
Stay Informed: Check the farms' Facebook pages before travelling to the farm. Sometimes during severe bad weather, farms may close. This is also a good place to check the pumpkin availability as generally the closer you visit to Halloween the fewer pumpkins there are to pick from.
Dress Comfortably:Â Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for pumpkin picking (especially Wellington boots) due to uneven and muddy fields.
Take Gloves: Gloves are great for picking up the stems of pumpkins as they can be prickly.
Take Bin Liners: Bin liners or bin bags are great for popping your pumpkins in to carry and also prevent the boot of your car from getting muddy!
Take Plenty of Photos: Pumpkin season provides lots of autumnal photo opportunities, so make sure to take your cameras! Why not dress in pumpkin-themed or Halloween clothing?
I hope this pumpkin-picking guide has been handy for you in finding your local pumpkin patch! Whether you'd like larger pumpkins or mini pumpkins, these beautiful farms have lots of different varieties of pumpkin. Autumn is my favourite time of year, so I love creating guides like these, including pumpkin picking and general Halloween events in the Midlands.
