Pumpkin Patches in the Midlands Guide

...and just like that, it is my favourite time of year again where the leaves begin to fall and the nights get darker earlier! And, of course, it's Halloween season too! This year, there are so many spooktacular events going on in the Midlands on the run-up to Halloween. I've put together a list of great pick your own pumpkin patches in the Midlands!


Staffordshire


This year, Lower Drayton Farm have a huge pumpkin patch spreading over 12 acres! After picking your pumpkin, you can head over to the pumpkin carving tent and get creative. There will be plenty of photo opportunities as well as hotdogs, homemade pumpkin soup, and hot and cold drinks available.

  • £7pp (under 2s free). Pre-booking required.

  • Each ticket includes one pumpkin per person.

  • When: Every weekend from Sat 2nd October then daily from Mon 18th-31st October.

  • Location: The Pumpkin Patch, Lower Drayton Farm, Penkridge, Stafford, ST19 5RE.


Family games alongside the Pumpkin Patch and plenty of fun photo opportunities for all the family. This year, there will also be Farmer Chris' Spooky Tractor, UV Maze, and a Halloween Face Painter (face painting is an additional charge).

  • £2.50pp, under 2s free. Pre-booking required.

  • Pumpkins are charged by weight.

  • When: Open on selected days between Saturday 9th Oct until 30th Oct.

  • Location: Mill Lane, Staffordshire, ST18 0RQ.


All the fun of the farm plus a day packed with spooky Halloween fun including Pick a Pumpkin, Broomstick Training, Scare School, Tragic Magic Show, Ludicrous Laboratory, Pumpkin Carving Tent, and Fancy Dress Competition.

  • £14.99pp, under 2s free. Pre-booking required.

  • When: 16, 17, 23-31 October.

  • Location: Tatenhill, Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE13 9SJ.


  • Free entry. Pumpkins charged by weight.

  • Currently not asking to pre-book but the situation may change (see Facebook for updates).

  • When: Open 16th-17th Oct then 23rd-31st Oct.

  • Location: Cock Ln, Stafford, ST17 0SA.


An 8-acre pumpkin patch as well as a Bounce & Climb, Straw Pyramids, Mini-Mazes, and Space Hoppers.

  • Adults £2, Children (aged 2-12) £3, under 2s free. Pre-booking required.

  • Pumpkins are charged by weight.

  • When: Open 10am-5pm every weekend from the 2nd October to 17th October. Then open daily from 20th Oct - 31st Oct.

  • Location: Watling Street, Hints, Tamworth, B78 3DF.

  • Free to enter the Pumpkin Patch just pay for the pumpkins you pick (booking for the patch is recommended, you can book here). Open 9:30am-4pm on the 9th Oct, 10th Oct, 16th Oct, 17th Oct, then 23rd until 31st Oct.

  • For entry into Billy's Farm Barn, the farm yard, and the indoor and outdoor play, purchasing a ticket is required (prices start from £4.99, click here to book).

  • Location: Amerton Farm, Stowe By Chartley, Stafford, Staffordshire, ST18 0LA (Between Stafford & Uttoxeter on the A518).


Pumpkin festival including farm entry, scarecrow trail, creepy crawlers corner, trailer ride, pick a pumpkin, and more!

  • £12.99 per child (aged 1 to 16) which includes trailer ride and a pumpkin.

  • £4.99 per adult which includes trailer ride (no pumpkin). Additional pumpkins can be purchased.

  • When: Open 25th Oct until 31st Oct. Morning (10am-12:30pm) and afternoon (1:30pm-3:30pm) sessions available.

  • Location: Bleak House Farm, Ironstone Road, WS7 1YL.


Pumpkin picking, pumpkin carving, and games.

  • £6 per child, £1.50 per adult. Every child ticket includes a pumpkin. Anybody not wishing to take home a pumpkin can purchase an adult ticket.

  • When: Open 10am from on the 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, then everyday from the 23rd until 30th October. The Pumpkin Paddock will be open on Sunday 31st October but pre-booking is unavailable. Please turn up and purchase a ticket on the day.

Wolverhampton

Worcestershire

Warwickshire

  • When: Open on 9th Oct until 31st Oct.

  • Location: Hall 1, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, CV8 2RG.


  • Entry £1 per vehicle. Pre-booking required.

  • Pumpkins are charged by weight.

  • When: Open 10am-6pm every weekend from 9th October until 17th October.

  • Location: Warwickshire. Coalpit Lane, CV8 3GB.


  • Follow Hatton Country World on their socials for the latest updates for their Halloween Spooktacular event.

  • When: Taking place between the 23rd and 31st October.

  • Location: Dark Ln, Hatton, Warwick, CV35 8XA.


  • Follow Poplars Farm Shop on their socials for the latest updates for their pumpkin patch!

  • Location: The Long Shoot, Nuneaton, CV11 6JG.

  • Admission to the PYO Pumpkins is £1.00 per person (children under 1 year old go free). Payment for the PYO is taken at the trailer at the start of the field. Cash and card accepted. Pay for what you pick. No booking is required.

  • When: 10am-3pm on the 9th, 16th, 23rd, then daily from 26th to 30th October.

  • Location: Lower Clopton, Upper Quinton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 8LQ.


You can pick your own pumpkins from the covered barn or take a walk through the reindeer and goat enclosures to pick your own pumpkin from their new pumpkin field. After picking your pumpkin you can carve them at Woods Barn or take them home with you.

  • Bookings are required for pumpkin carving ( please look out for further updates later on in the year for information regarding tickets/bookings) Bookings are not required if you wish to pick your pumpkins and take home. Pay for what you pick.

  • When: Open 10am-5pm from Saturday 16th October 2021 until November 1st.

  • Location: Woods Farm Christmas Trees, Bills Lane, Shirley, Solihull, B90 2PP.


Shropshire


  • Open 9:30-4pm on the 9-10 Oct, 16-17 Oct, 23-31 Oct. Pre-booking required.

  • Pumpkin Patch Only: £4 per pumpkin.

  • Spookley 2021: £5 per adult, £6.50 per child (under 1s £2). Family tickets available.

  • Norton, Shifnal, TF11 9EF.



  • Follow Severn Valley Cottage on their socials for the latest updates for their pumpkin patch!

  • When: Open every weekend from the beginning of October, and during the Autumn half term from Monday 25th October until Halloween.

  • Location: Between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster on the A442.


  • £5 per car. Pay for what you pick. Booking required. The timed ticket is for when you enter the pick your own, but you can stay for as long you like. The tickets are for the pick your own patch whilst the shop, display and children's funfair do not require a ticket to enter.

  • When: Open from Saturday 9th October till Sunday 31st October everyday from 9am till 5pm.

  • Location: Llynclys Hall Farm, Oswestry, Shropshire, SY10 8AD.


Huge selection of pumpkins available to pick direct from the field as well as a spooky witches village to explore.

  • Free entry, no booking required. Pay for what you pick.

  • When: Open daily from 1st to 31st October 10am to 4pm (*).

  • Location: Northwood Pumpkin Patch, The Field, Northwood SY4 5NN.


Leicestershire


  • £2pp Mon to Fri / £3pp Sat & Sun. Under 1s free. Pre-booking required. Pay for what you pick.

  • When: Open daily 9am-6pm from Friday 1st Oct - Sun 31st.

  • Location: Heather Lane, Coalville, LE67 2TD.

This year, Mr Pumpkin have planted almost 90,000 different pumpkins, and over 40 different varieties to choose from!

  • Adults £2 each, under 16s free. Pay for what you pick, Pre-booking required. You can arrive anytime during your hour entry slot, and stay as long as you like.

  • When: Open the 3rd, 9th, 10th, then daily from 16th to 31st October.

  • Location: Lime Farm, Mansfield Road, Morley, Derby, DE7 6JU.
