Outdoor Pools and Splash Pads in the Midlands for Summer 2025

With the warm weather finally here, there’s no better way to cool off than by visiting one of the Midlands' top outdoor splash pads or paddling pools. Perfect for young families, many of these destinations are set in scenic parks and offer nearby play areas, cafés, and plenty of open space for picnics and games. Whether you're staying local or exploring further afield, here are the best spots to splash around this summer.
Please double-check each splash pad's opening times on social media or their corresponding websites before travelling, as sometimes they close for maintenance, technical issues, draining, or due to the weather.

Walsall Arboretum Splash Pad
Located in a stunning 170-acre park, Walsall Arboretum Splash Pad this splash pad is a favourite with families. It’s packed with fountains, water cannons, and spray jets. There's also a lake with pedalos, a playground, skate park, and café.
Walsall Arboretum Splash Pad is well-known for having lots of maintenance issues, so do check their Facebook page for up-to-date details. As of 15th June 2025, it is currently closed for maintenance. Do check the linked social media for updates.
Open daily from Saturday 24 May to Sunday 31 August 2025. On weekends, school holidays and bank holidays, the attraction will be open between 11am to 5pm. On weekdays, outside of school holidays, opening hours are from 11am to 3pm.

Willenhall Memorial Park Splash Pad
Award-winning and well-equipped, this Willenhall Memorial Park features a splash pad, play area, skate park, and multi-use games zone.
Open: Splashpad open from 24 May until 31 August 2025: Weekends, school holidays and bank holidays: 11am to 5pm. Weekdays during term time: 11am to 3pm.

King George V Memorial Park Splash Pad
Popular for its wide-open space and family-friendly design, King George V Memorial Park Splash Pad usually opens late May and stays open all summer. The park also has a playground, sports fields, and good accessibility.
Open: Splashpad open from 24 May until 31 August 2025: Weekends, school holidays and bank holidays: 11am to 5pm. Weekdays during term time: 11am to 3pm.

Dartmouth Park Splash Pad
Set at the top of Sandwell Valley Country Park, Dartmouth Park Splash Pad features jets and sprays. In addition to the splash pad, you can enjoy the different play areas and walk around the lake.
The splashpad is now open as of 15th June 2025. There's no information on the website on opening times, but last year it was every day during summer 12pm-4pm.

Tettenhall Pool
Tettenhall Pool is a free, outdoor, seasonal paddling pool.
Open: The council website states that it is open now, but I can't find any information on opening times on the Facebook page to confirm.

Mary Stevens Park Splash Pad
At Mary Stevens Park, you'll find a small gated splash pad with sprinklers. You'll also find a playground, gym equipment, and a huge duck pond to walk around.
Open: Open now as we visited last weekend (I can't find any information on opening times, though).

East Park
One of Wolverhampton’s largest and most popular parks, East Park offers a vibrant splash pad perfect for a family day out.
Open: Open now according to Facebook post, but I can't find any information on opening times).
