I was challenged by The Swan Shopping Centre in Yardley, Birmingham to find a great selection of gifts for Mother’s Day! The Swan Shopping Centre is a great shopping destination – the centre has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere and is super convenient with all the stores being in the same location. This means you do not have to travel to different places as you can get the gifts you need all under one roof. There’s even free parking too!
There really is something for every mom, stepmom, godmother, nan, and great grandmother this Mother’s Day. Here are my ten favourite, great value gift ideas from the Swan Shopping Centre:
1. Nightwear from Tesco (F&F Clothing)
Tesco have a huge range of pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns that would make the perfect gift for Mother’s Day. From Disney pyjamas, matching mom and child pyjamas, nighties, to plain loungewear – there really is something for everyone.
My personal favourite are the pink Disney Minnie Mouse pyjamas. Adding a sprinkle of Disney magic to bedtime doesn’t just have to be for the kids! Priced at £17, the pyjama set would make a lovely token of appreciation.
As well as clothing, F&F clothing in Tesco has some super comfy slippers in lots of different colours and styles. From open toe slippers to minimalist cross strap fluffy slippers.
These grey mule slippers were a standout for me. They are cosy and can be paired with any nightwear. At £10, they are a great pick!
2. Yankee Candles from Tesco
Candles are always a popular choice as a Mother's Day gift and Tesco have a great range of candles of all kinds of fragrance and appearance. My personal favourite is the Yankee Candle Elderberry Blossom – a lovely, floral scent. There is also the Wild Daisy Meadow, Coral Peony, and more fruity scents including Citrus Spice and Mango Lemonade. The medium candle is priced at £9 and large ones £11.
If you’re unsure of which fragrance to choose, there are also Yankee Candle votive gift sets and small jar sets available.
3. Tatty Teddy Range from Tesco
If you’re unsure what to get your mom for Mother’s Day, the Tatty Teddy collection at Tesco has a little bit of everything. The eye mask, mug and fluffy sock bundle would make a great treat for any mom. As well as this gift set, there are a few others priced at just £10, too including a spa headband gift set with body lotion and bath salts and one with a prosecco glass, bottle stop, and coaster.
You can also buy the Tatty Teddy Me To You mugs separately for £5 each.
4. Flowers from Tesco
You really can’t go wrong with a lovely bunch of flowers this Mother’s Day. At Tesco, they have a great range of flowers of all different variety. They have small bunches of hand-picked spray carnations for £2.50 and bigger, more luxurious bouquets of mixed flowers from £10 and up. A traditional gift of flowers may seem simple, but it's a sweet reminder of just how much you care about your mom or nan this Mother’s Day.
5. Clothing from Peacocks
I’m loving the Louise Redknapp: The Weekend Edit clothing collection in Peacocks. The black and white floral shirred peplum blouse, priced at £18, stood out to me because of its classy pattern and its versatility. As well as the blouse, there is also a black and white floral 3/4 sleeve V-neck dress in a similar daisy floral pattern (£16).
Both clothing items would make a great addition to your mother, stepmother, mother-in-law or grandmother’s wardrobe. They can be dressed up or down for any occasion.
6. Boots from Pep&Co
Who doesn’t love a chunky boot? I was immediately drawn to the black Chelsea boots with chunky soles from Pep&Co. At £14 these boots are great value for money. The boots would go well with any outfit including the Peacock’s Louise Redknapp black and white blouse or dress.

7. Paint Your Own Gifts from Poundland
I love love love paint your own gifts and when I saw the paint your own plant pot (£3) in Poundland, I had to get it! This is a really special gift that would be great for moms and grandmas! If you have little children especially, they would love to get involved to create a unique masterpiece.
As well as a plant pot, Poundland have paint your own canvases (£1 each) in two different designs: one with a bee “You are the bee’s knees”, and one of a bouquet of flowers with “Mum, I love you” written underneath. All of the paint your own range come with one brush and four paint pots which is super handy! With a personal gift like this, you really can’t go wrong!
8. Chocolates from Poundland
Who doesn’t love a box of chocolates? The new Cadbury Hazelnut Creme Hearts Chocolate and the Cadbury White Chocolate Truffle Flowers make a great, indulgent treat. What’s great about these chocolate boxes are that you can open the lid and write your own personal message to your mother or grandmother and reclose.
This personalisation option makes the box of chocolates a special gift, and at £2 per box it is a steal!
9. Gift Sets from Card Factory
If you’re not set on one gift for Mother’s Day, as well as cards and gift wrap, Card Factory have some lovely, wrapped gift boxes filled with many different things.
