Christmas at the Castle

A few weeks ago, we were invited to Warwick Castle’s Christmas at the Castle preview event. We had such a lovely time! We have been to Warwick Castle a few times before, especially for their Halloween events but this time was extra special - we had Elijah with us to take in all of the festivities and really get into the Christmas spirit.

First, we headed to the Christmas market, which is also open to the public. They had around 15 stalls where you could buy cheese, fudge, cakes, brownies, and Christmas gifts. I have to admit the chocolate orange and kinder brownies from Dale’s Handmade were divine!

We then headed to ice skating... I have only been ice skating twice before in my early teens and let’s just say, I barely let go of the side of the rink. After watching Dancing on Ice religiously over the past few years, I had it in my head that maybe I would have unconsciously taken in some tips and built on my lack of skating experience... but it turns out, I’m still as bad as before! I managed to successfully skate two laps of the rink (barely letting go of the sides, mind).

It was then time for the light switch on! We walked through the lovely illuminated grounds listening to a 'festive poem of hope'. It was truly stunning. Elijah loved seeing all the multi-coloured twinkly lights - what a sensory experience! Mr and Mrs Claus even made an appearance! We then headed for a warm hot chocolate and mince pie to end a lovely evening.

Thanks so much Warwick Castle for inviting us! We have definitely made memories to treasure ♥️
